Throughout the first half of the 20th century Rickwood Field hosted sellout crowds for both the Barons and the Black Barons, who played on alternate weekends.
The Birmingham Black Barons played professional baseball in Birmingham, Alabama in the Negro Leagues from 1920 to 1960.
