The Barney Ford House Museum is a must-stop on your visit to Breckenridge.
Barney Lancelot Ford was an escaped slave who became a wealthy businessman and civil-rights pioneer in Colorado.
He is a member of the Colorado Black Hall of Fame, the Colorado Business Hall of Fame, and has a stained-glass portrait in the House Chamber of the Colorado State Capitol.
Guests can take a guided tour through the museum with one of the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance's expert guides or choose a self-guided option. Expect to spend about 20-30 minutes on your visit.
